YouTube Favorites Part One

Here's an interesting video of a street performer. He's playing the melody with a Kalimba (http://jmceld.home.mindspring.com/kalimba.htm), one of those neat African thumb pianos you might have seen in an import store sometime. And he makes those bird noises with his mouth! Impressive.


Skilled street performers are even more depressing than those that are unskilled.  Imagine how much time he spent practicing, only to be pigeonholed into a niche which doesn't garner much glory or gold. But money isn't everything (it's possible he does quite well for himself, doing something he enjoys). And I suppose pity is really just fear for oneself.
